About the Author

John Molyneux is a retired Consultant Applied Scientist/ Engineer who has spent a significant proportion of his professional life creating technical reports and documentation intended for techincal, semi technical and non-technical audiences. His subject matter has ranged from, in the early days, 'The accurate measurement of fresh/saline water levels'  at a Government Research Station in Oxford to, more recently, 'A feasibility study of battery powered trains' for the UK Department for Transport and hundreds of other studies in between. He's been cited as inventor in eleven patents.
However, he has always had a love of 'what if?' stories.

He started storytelling thirty years ago when his first daughter was born. He carried on the tradition with his second daughter. He'd grown tired of reading the same old bedtime stories to his children and so, naturally, began to create new ones to keep them entertained. Along the way he branched out into creating other stories, mysteries, crime, fantasy, but none of them ever made it beyond a dozen or so chapters.

Retirement has given him the opportunity to finally create stories for everyone.

He lives with his wife in the North of England and sees his daughters when they can spare the time from their own busy lives.

When not writing, he walks his dogs, goes swimming, indulges himself with the occasional foray into mathematics or electronics and helps out with the village pantomime.

John Molyneux MA FIET.2018
(2019... scratch the FIET: Since I have retired I don't need this for employment purposes any more... hence I am no longer a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering Technology. Besides I am a pensioner and I can't afford the fees.

It doesn't stop me being an engineer or scientist, I will still design things, do calculations, write software, solve problems and learn everything I can about the things I want to understand and know about ... I just don't need a piece of paper to say I can to do it. (The scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz was misled !!! )
